In February 2023, Lo Siento studio held the LOVE & HATE workshop at the prestigious Parisian university ECV, exploring the possibilities of graphic design from a completely manual approach. This workshop focused on the creation of a 100% handmade poster, eliminating the use of digital tools to value the direct connection between hands, materials and ideas.
The workshop concept, based on the universal opposites of ‘love’ and ‘hate’, invited students to channel contrasting emotions into unique graphic compositions. Using a wide variety of physical materials and techniques such as collage, hand lettering and texture manipulation, each participant shaped their personal vision, letting imperfection and spontaneity become part of the visual language.
LOVE & HATE was not only a technical exercise, but also a reflection on the creative process in its most essential state. By disconnecting from digital media, the students discovered new forms of expression, reclaiming the power of craft in a world dominated by screens. The result: a collection of posters full of energy, honesty and personality, where each stroke and each material tells a unique story.
