No Me Da La Dana

When the magazine Gráffica launched the ‘Designers for Valencia’ initiative, it became clear that design is not only a communication tool, but also a powerful way to generate solidarity and hope. In the aftermath of the devastation caused by the Isolated High Level Depression (DANA) in the Valencian Community, this non-profit platform sought to unite graphic design professionals to create posters that would not only raise awareness of the tragedy, but also help raise funds for those affected.

The challenge was huge: to encapsulate in one graphic piece the pain, outrage and resilience of the affected communities, while conveying a clear message of unity and action. For us, as a studio, this was an opportunity not only to design, but to raise a critical voice against the situation.

The idea: ‘NO ME ME DA LA DANA ( "No me da la gana" - I don't want to).
Our poster was born from a phrase loaded with meaning: ‘NO ME ME DA LA DANA’. This play on words becomes a cry of resistance, a declaration of pride for the Valencian people in the face of the negligence of politicians in the management and prevention of disasters like this one. The phrase channels collective frustration into a defiant stance: we will not accept passivity or excuses, we will stand up together because we believe in the strength of our community.

‘No me da la Dana ‘ becomes a mantra that speaks of the capacity of Valencians to collaborate, rebuild and seek their own solutions, even when those who should be in charge have failed. It is a message that combines criticism and empowerment, reminding us that dignity and solidarity are stronger than any disaster.

The graphic piece is intended to be direct, impactful and emotionally resonant. The typography, large and forceful, occupies the central space of the poster. The words "NO ME DA LA DANA ’ are boldly arranged, with a clean but energetic design that plays with contrast to instantly grab attention.
