Posters X Gaza
The piece poses an unavoidable question: what remains of a place when even its name seems to be crumbling?. The word GAZA ceases to be legible, becoming instead a landscape of ruins. Its letters appear fractured, displaced and reduced to rubble, just like the buildings and streets they represent.
Every crack, every fragment and every void evokes the impact of the bombings and the physical devastation that has turned entire neighbourhoods into an unrecognisable landscape.
The composition does not depict an explosion: it depicts its aftermath. The silence after the roar.
The typeface is transformed into architecture; architecture, into destroyed memory.
The poster designed for the ADG-FAD's "Posters x Gaza" exhibition is a visual condemnation of the devastation suffered by the Palestinian people.
