Savia
SAVIA is not just a restaurant, it is an experience that takes you to the essential, to what matters, to what nourishes. And design is not just an ornament in this story; it is the very sap that connects all its parts, from the field to the plate, from the brush to the table.
In the heart of Barcelona, where the urban and the natural meet, SAVIA is born, a restaurant that breathes freshness and authenticity. From the first meeting, Tomás Avellán and Laura Veraguas, the creators behind this culinary proposal, convey their clear and passionate vision: to create a space where healthy food not only feeds the body, but also the soul.
Our challenge as a studio is no less: to transform this philosophy into a visual language that envelops diners from the moment they set foot in the restaurant.
Upon entering the restaurant, the design comes to life. The walls are decorated with illustrations of the ingredients that feature in the dishes. Drawings of mushrooms, octopuses, fresh herbs and local fruits, all in the same torn line that defines the identity, tell stories of seasonality and flavour. These elements are not just decoration; they are a statement of principle, a visual homage to what is served at the table.
The SAVIA logo becomes a symbol of its essence. It is drawn with brushstrokes that seem full of life, as if they were flowing directly from the field to the paper. This logo does not seek to impose itself, but to blend in; it is a perfect reflection of the humility and grandeur of nature.
They are small reflections that speak of market cuisine, respect for the land and the importance of nourishing ourselves with the best that nature gives us. Phrases such as ‘Restauplant’ or ‘Savia a gloria’ become part of the restaurant's landscape, inviting the customer to stop and connect with the message.
The connection with the team behind SAVIA is immediate. Laura Veraguas, with her love of garden recipes, and Tomás Avellán, with his vision of a space that breathes honesty and freshness, are present in every detail. Their ideas not only inspire the design, but give it a unique soul.
On the tables, the menus are unique pieces. Each one is designed as if it were a recipe journal, with handwritten messages emphasising the importance of origin and honesty in the kitchen. There is no room for empty opulence or ostentation; everything here communicates closeness, roots and love for good food.
They speak of ingredients that travel directly from the garden to the plate, of recipes that respect the cycles of the earth and of a cuisine that honours the essential, the pure, the good. ‘We want whoever enters SAVIA to feel the taste of authenticity in every corner’, they say.
