Wam Fantástico
For the design of the album Fantástico by the Barcelona-based band WE ARE MONO, we took as our starting point an element that is as technical as it is recognisable: sound vectors.

Those vertical lines that graphically represent the intensity and rhythm of a wave became the conceptual and formal starting point for the project.
We transformed this two-dimensional language into a three-dimensional construction system. Starting with a vector drawing, we developed a typographic piece created using successive layers of precision-cut methacrylate.
Layer by layer, the vectors built up the band’s name, turning a digital representation of sound into a physical object with volume, depth and light.
More than just a cover, the result is a handcrafted typographic sculpture. An object that changes depending on the viewer’s perspective and for which photography forms an essential part of its visual language. Different framing and angles reveal new interpretations of the piece, documenting both the album and the graphic universe developed for the various singles.
Fantástico is an exercise in translation across disciplines: from sound to graphics, from vectors to volume, and from the digital to the material. A project in which music ultimately takes on a physical form.
