Hueca
‘HUECA’ which means ‘empty’ in English, is a experimental project based on a typographic construction made with the welding technique. The name of the typeface is directly related to its physical design, creating a conceptual interplay between meaning and form.

The letters are made of aluminium contours only, leaving the inside completely empty, which emphasises the idea of ‘hollowness’ and visual transparency.
This results in a composition of free and empty letters, light, volatile, thin and without content, only constructed with the essential outline made entirely with an aluminium rod.
Welded joints can be design elements that add a touch of authenticity and craftsmanship.
The aluminium filament provides a glossy and versatile finish, allowing subtle reflections that change according to light and angle.
The welding technique brings a unique character, where the precision of the design merges with the craftsmanship and the metal material.
